Essential for operational roles across resources and infrastructure—including engineers, safety personnel, technicians, and managers—this practical course prepares participants to navigate high-risk confined space environments with total compliance and safety.
Students gain hands-on knowledge in hazard identification, risk assessment, and permit acquisition. Across two practical scenarios, participants master entering and exiting confined spaces under real permit conditions, operating atmospheric testing equipment, fitting appropriate PPE, and performing essential maintenance on safety gear.

Entry Requirements
An individual undertaking this course will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry

Supply photo ID

Have the physical capability to perform the practical demonstrations, such as climbing a ladder, donning a harness, manual handling

Wear appropriate attire and enclosed footwear
Online pre-course work: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online pre-course work. Please note: All online pre-course work is to be completed prior to attending the face-to-face assessment.

Horizontal entry into a confined space

Vertical entry into a confined space
Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of short answer and multiple choice questions. The students must complete all assessment questions

Course Duration
The course duration is 3 hours

If a student requires further training, repeat assessment or any extra help, the Trainer may request the student stay behind to ensure that they have the best chance at completing the course but may also be rescheduled for another date.
